since our last interaction. A lot has happened. I moved back to Seattle with Eric. It's been fabulous. Working back at Derby has been great. I feel very appreciated there, which is the best feeling when it comes to work. Um friends.... I don't know. Things are so different. At first things were great, but now I'm feeling super left out...and all the time. Which is fine I guess. We're all in different places. But I don't want to hear ever again that I don't try with my friendships. I get nothing in return when I try to contact anyone. Maybe I'm just not meant to have friends.

Anywho, I love my life. I'm much happier here than I could ever be in Sacramento.

Today while on lunch, I was talking to a co-worker of mine about my previous boss in Seattle. In the midst of things, my phone begins to ring. It was my previous boss in Seattle, Alison. Amazing/creepy timing! She wanted to know when I was wanting to move back and to let me know that she wants me to take over the previous managers position and make me head of the salon/boutique. PLUS she said whatever she could do to help me get up there quicker she'd be happy to help. She said if I figured out the expenses to get my ass up there, she'd loan me the money to do so. So crazy to think someone has this much trust and faith in me that she'd throw down a bunch of money to get me there sooner. I love her. Always have, always will. Eric and I are going to figure this out ASAP. I'm so fucking excited I could scream off the top of a building.

The whole experience was really frustrating more than anything. Some idiot was ripping through the streets (or so it sounded), in the rain, without his headlights on. Which then caused us fumble and collide into one another due to lack of communication. He ran to our rescue right away, and yelled about drivers being retarded. Damn it if he wasn't so cool.

I was watching the movie trailer The Informers (a novel by Bret Easton Ellis), and I realized that Brad Renfro was in it. I thought he had died recently, so I did a google search. Sure enough, homeboy died of a heroin overdose. Then I got to thinking, helluv famous people have died from heroin.

Part of me feels really silly for leaving Seattle, seeing how I'm trying to move back. But if I didn't come back here when I did, life would be so different. I came home for many reasons, I just didn't know it yet. My family needed me the most and I am so thankful for being available for them. Plus Eric and I wouldn't be where we are now. I'd rather move back being as happy as I am, than constantly fighting sanity alone. This time around will be so different and amazing. Eric's excited to move to a new city with me, and I am too. I'm not scared in any way for once.

I have never felt this way, ever, in my whole experience of living in Sacramento. My allergies are by far at their worst. Right now the roof of my mouth is swollen. Every time I cough I dry heave and feel like the roof of my mouth is going to fall off and I'm going to swallow it.

The past week

Has been so nutty. I've been working a bunch and fighting the sickness being passed around the front desk. On Tuesday I woke up 15 minutes before I had to be at work, and while I frantically got ready Eric packed me a lunch. :)

Not only had I not showered and properly gotten ready for work at a salon, turns out the other girl working later was hella sick. And no one could cover, so I stayed for a 12 hours shift. $$$

I've seen a lot of this view lately.

I've worked 6 days in a row, however, the past two days I had to leave a little early, due to fear of vomiting everywhere. My co-workers even started a rumor that I'm pregnant. Awesome. I'm so happy to have tomorrow off.

Eric, Brad, Lindsey, and myself took a mini vacation to SLO and it's surrounding areas. The sun, the beach, the warmth, was all very overwhelming. But it felt so good to be away for those 2 days. I can't decide if I wish it were for longer. It was kind of nice to come back home to the cold, dark skies, and rain. Not to mention I got to hear a friends voice, and that alone made my day.

Basically, this week had been awesome.

While taking a break from moving, I've been thinking a lot about the past year.

For all that has happened, good and bad, I could not be happier. Everything happens for a reason. I have learned so much the past 12(+) months. 1) Friends and money never mix. 2) There are amazing people out there in the world, and I have met many of them. 3) Friends come and go. I lost a few old friends this year. 4) I make my own choices with who I want in my life. There is one couple in particular who I didn't care to know in the beginning for not-so-personal reasons, but now I absolutely adore them.

Here's what I have to be happy for: I'm in a healthy/perfect relationship. I have an amazing apartment. I have a job (hey it's something). I am healthy. I have the best, most true friends. And I have the best, super supportive family there is.

I am in a good place for once. My past is out the door. Fuck you, 2008.

I'm sitting on the hardwood floor of our new apartment, using my now free internet. Life is grand. We'll be finished moving all of our stuff in by the weekend. I can't wait until everything is in it's place and we're comfortable. It feels really good to have all of this fall into place the way that it has the past six months.

I'm planning a trip back up to Seattle mid February. I am SO excited to be there again and take Eric with me. It'll be Teada's birthday, Geneva's baby is due early that month, and quite possibly the last time I see Teada in a while. But we don't know that just yet. Either way, I'm going to be up there. Disposable camera project, part I

Last Christmas, instead of giving loved ones gifts I handed out disposable cameras. They were given to my closest friends along the west coast, and one on the east coast. At first I gave a deadline of one month, and when they were finished with the camera they needed to mail it to me. I didn't want them to get the photos and send me back the ones they liked. I wanted the photos of what they were up to, what they saw in their cities and everyday life. I wanted them to be raw. I still don't have all of the cameras.

I feel so clear headed now. I feel like I can truly be happy for once. Not that I haven't been happy, but I can finally stop dwelling on old problems. Last night, I closed that ugly chapter of my life. I said "good-bye" to my past.

I have this feeling of ecstasy that has suddenly come over me. The single most important thing in my life is right in front of me. He makes me feel like I've never felt before. He loves me. I feel so lucky to be able to experience this. I feel so lucky to have this story of "how we met....."

Since I've been back "home", I have been feeling like an outcast.

I first left Sacramento because there was nothing here for me and I wanted to separate myself from everything and everyone. When I did that, I went to Seattle to start a new life for myself and myself only. At first my friends were so happy for me for making this huge step towards my future. My how things have changed. I regret nothing that took place in Seattle. It made me who I am today, and I like who I am.

Perhaps I'm a little hardheaded, but I still don't understand the way things are today.
